This course covers what hazardous chemicals or substances are, how to read hazard labels on chemical products, how to store them correctly, minimise the risk when using chemicals,what a safety data sheet is and how to use one, and how to report hazardous chemical incidents.

This course is designed for organisation-wide delivery and provides employees and employers with general knowledge of the legal requirements, basic principles, and best practices relating to the correct handling, storage and use of chemical substances in the workplace.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this course participants will gain the necessary information to be able to correctly identify and classify hazardous chemicals. Participants will also learn what the correct PPE is that they must wear whilst handling chemicals, how to read hazardous statements and labels, what a Safety Data Sheet is, and what to do in the case of a chemical emergency.
